Neal Edwards

YORK – Neal Edwards, 80 of York, PA, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at Wellspan, York Hospital. 

Mr. Edwards was born July 13, 1945, in Hillsville, VA and was the son of the late Ora D. Edwards and Alice Jane (Blankship) Edwards. 

He graduated in 1963 from Hillsville Senior High School in Hillsville, VA.  He was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company in York as a machine operator until his retirement in 1998.  He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union #786.   He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves for 7 years.  While he served in the reserves, he was a Fuel Electric Specialist. 

Mr. Edwards is survived by his son, Ashley O. Edwards of Dillsburg, PA, and two grandchildren, Nevaeha and Cameron.  He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew C. Edwards, and his sister Elsie Rossiter.

His memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM, Monday, June 15, 2026, at Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 47 North Queen Street, Dover, PA.  His visitation will be Monday, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  His burial will be private in Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery in Annville, PA.  Officiating at his service will be Reverend Douglas Shenton from Temple Baptist in Leader Heights, PA.
