Michael W. Knapp

DOVER – Michael W. Knapp, 75, of Dover, passed away, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at his home in Dover, PA.  He was the husband of Joyce E. (Kope) Knapp whom he married 37 years ago on October 3, 1987. 

Michael was born October 10, 1949, in Troy, PA and was the son of the late William and (Severns) Knapp.

 He was employed for over 25 years with York International, now Johnson controls before retiring in 2016.   He was a member of the Shiloh American Legion, Post #791, West Manchester V.F.W. Post 7374#, Vietnam Veterans Affairs and York Seventh-Day Adventist Church in York, PA.  Michael proudly served his country in the United States Marines, Army and Navy for over 20 years.

 In addition to his wife, Joyce, Michael is survived by his stepdaughter, Joye Lauer and her husband Robert of Hellam, PA; five step-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren; his brother, Richard Knapp and his wife Sally of Winterstown, PA; two nephews, and three stepsisters.  Michael was preceded in death by his stepson, Barry Stouffer and three stepsisters.

 His graveside service will begin at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery, Annville, PA.  United States Navy Military honors will be provided at his graveside service.  Officiating at his service will be Pastor Randy Nims.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
