Joyce D. Arnold

MURRELLS INLET – Joyce D. (Hess) Arnold, 82, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, formerly of York, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC.  She was the wife of the late Donald B. Arnold who passed away December 16, 2002.

Mrs. Arnold was born February 17, 1943, in York, PA and was the daughter of the late Gerald and Katherine (Hoover) Hess. 

She graduated in 1960 from William Penn Senior High School in York, PA.  She was employed by McCrory’s Distribution Center in York, PA before retiring.

Mrs. Arnold is survived by her son, Michael L. Arnold of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren, Timothy, Lindsey, Bryanna, and Emily and two great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa S. Becker, and her brothers, Tarry Hoover, Sr., and Lee E. Jones. 

A private graveside service will take place in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens where Mrs. Arnold will be laid to rest.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
