John P. Morley 

DOVER – John P. Morley, 55 of Dover, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his home in Dover. He was the husband of Julie A. (Kern) Morley whom he married on August 12, 2023.

John was born on June 8, 1970, in Grand Forks, North Dakota and is the son of Thomas and Phyllis (Ashton) Morley of York, PA.

He graduated in 1988 from Dover Area High School and in 1992 from East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, PA where he played football at both. He returned to coach football at Dover. He retired in April 2025 from Northern York County Regional Police Department after 32 years of service with the department. In his 32 years of service, he served the department as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective, fatal accident investigator, and Corporal. He was currently employed as a Professional Conduct Investigator with the Pennsylvania Department of State. John “Big Dum” Morley was the President of the York Chapter, National 1st Vice President, former National Sergeant at Arms, and Life member of Renegade Pigs Motorcycle Club and attended Providence Community Church in Spring Grove, PA.

In addition to his wife and parents, John is survived by his daughters, Logan Morley of IN and Taylor Morley of NC; his stepson, Matthew Sterner of PA; and his sister, Sharon L. Pickett and her husband Michael, and his nephews, Christopher and Rian Pickett, all of NY.

His memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Providence Community Church, 6146 York Road, Spring Grove, PA.  His visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, at the church.  Officiating at his service will be Pastor Nathan Herndon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
