Donald E. Althoff

YORK – Donald Eugene Althoff, born March 4, 1954 in York, Pa, passed away December 14th surrounded by the love of family.  Donald was a lifelong resident of York, Pa., and a man whose life was defined by connection, joy and the people he held close.

Family was at the heart of Donald’s world.  He is survived by his loving siblings: David Althoff and Deb, Diane Miller and Scott, and Daniel Althoff and Tammy. He was the proud Uncle to seven nieces and nephews and a great-uncle to eleven great-nieces and nephews, all of whom he held close to his heart.  Donald took great pride in their lives.

Donald is preceded in death by his devoted parents, Joyce and James Althoff.  His mother was deeply committed to his happiness and well being and lovingly cared for him for many years.  Donald found great joy in the outdoors, he loved fishing on his boat with his devoted father and spending time at the hunting camp-places where he felt peace and happiness.

Donald was a proud resident of Margaret Moul Home, where he found not only excellent care but also a second family.  He loved his caregivers and found many meaningful friendships with the fellow residents, all of whom brought happiness and companionship to his daily life.

Donald will be remembered for his spirit, love of family, and the joy he found every day.  His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Services for Donald are private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Dover.
