Curtis H. Thieret
YORK – Curtis “Snook” H. Thieret, 93, of York, passed away, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his home in York, PA. He was the husband to Fayetta (Hoke) Thieret whom he married 69 years ago on October 27, 1956.
Mr. Thieret was born March 2, 1932, in Hanover, PA and was the son of the late Samuel and Beulah (Sidenstricker) Thieret.
He graduated in 1950 from Eichelberger Senior High School in Hanover, PA. He was employed by Cole Steel in York and later Abbottstown Industries before retiring. He was a member of Hawks Club, McSherrystown Home Association, New Oxford Social Club, Shiloh American Legion Post # 791, Gettysburg Region AACA and the National AACA and a life member of Hanover Fire Company #1 in Hanover, PA. He attended Providence Presbyterian Church in York, PA. Mr. Thieret proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Thieret is survived by his son, Dean Thieret and his wife Beth of York, PA; his daughter, Debra Thieret of York, PA; two grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Jessica, and Kyle; two great grandchildren, Hudsyn, and Wyatt; and his brother, Samuel Thieret, Jr., of Thomasville, PA. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Thieret and Richard Thieret, and his sister, Betty Nelson.
His funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 8, 2025, at Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 47 North Queen Street, Dover, PA. His viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Monday at the funeral home. His burial will take place in Paradise Union Cemetery in Thomasville, PA. Officiating at his service will be Reverend Dr. Vince Wood from Providence Presbyterian Church, York, PA. York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide full military honors at the graveside service.
