Barbara K. (Crouse) Shelley

YORK – Barbara K. (Crouse) Shelley, 87 of York, PA, passed away, Monday, March 9, 2026, at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in York. She was the wife of the late Donald “Don” J. Shelley who passed away October 21, 2024. 

Barbara was born on April 16, 1938, in York and was the daughter of the late Millard and Mary (Gettys) Crouse. 

She graduated in 1956 from William Penn High School in York. She co-owned with her husband, Genesis Christian Book and Gift Store in Dover, PA and also was a bus driver for Kelly’s Transit in Dover for numerous years. She attended Bermudian Church of the Brethren

Barbara is survived by her son, Bryan L. Shelley, and his wife Crystale of York, and her grandson, Brandon A. Shelley of York. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Allen J. Shelley, and her brothers, William Crouse and Richard Crouse.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 47 North Queen Street, Dover, PA. Her visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Officiating at her service will be Reverend Sterling Trimmer. Her burial will be private.
