YORK- Wayne R. Adams, 78 of York, PA passed away, Sunday July 26, 2026, at York North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in York, PA.  He was the husband of Kay L. (Gross) Adams whom he married 58 years ago on August 26, 1967.

Wayne was born December 30, 1947, in York, PA and was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Smith) Adams.

He graduated in 1966 from West York Senior High School in West York, PA.  He owned and operated Adams Equipment.  Previously he was employed in sales with various manufacturing companies.   He was a former member of the Prince Athletic Club, Hawks Gunning Club and the 12th Ward Democratic Club.  He is a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in West Manchester Township, York, PA.  Wayne was an avid baseball fan, and often traveled to Arizona and Florida for Spring training games.

In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his son, Matthew Adams of York, his daughter, Vonda Lenker of Dover; his grandson, Michael, his granddaughter, Kylie and her husband Aaron; his great granddaughter, Aubrey who he just adored to no end, his brother, Norman Adams and his wife Ginny of Spring Grove, and his sisters, Liz Duttera and her husband Joel of York, and Lena Hilbert and her husband John of Dover; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Adams, Jr., Warren Adams, and Gary Adams, and his sister, Lisa Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 PM, Noon, Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Road, York, PA.  His burial will be private in Saint Paul "Wolfs" Union Cemetery.  Officiating at his service will be his pastor, Reverend Neil E. Ray. Arrangements have been entrusted to Leber Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
